A Rated Eco-Classrooms from The Learning Escape
All commercial buildings in the UK that use energy to condition the indoor climate now require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) whenever they are sold and two of our latest Learning Escapes have achieved an A rating.
The rating indicates the energy efficiency of the fabric of the building itself as well as its heating, ventilation, cooling and lighting systems. Ratings range from G (for the least energy efficient buildings) up to A for the best. We, at The Learning Escape, are delighted to announce that two of our most recent eco-classrooms at Penponds School in Cambourne and Dulwich Hamlets School in South West London have both been awarded an A rated EPC.
Both Dulwich Hamlets and Penponds have been experiencing a rapid rise in pupil intake and were in urgent need of an extra classroom. Timescale and budgets were tight and the ongoing running costs needed to be low.
Nikki Smith head teacher at Penponds is delighted with the new eco-friendly addition to the school. “We loved the way that the whole build was managed for us (including planning permission) and the flexibility afforded to us regarding design, construction and pricing.”
