HSEQ / Compliance Lead

Hours: Full-Time
Location: Based in Coventry (covering projects throughout the UK)

The Role:

Provide professional health and safety advice, guidance, training, and support across the business, dealing with design and technical teams, operations, manufacturing and on-site delivery.  Facilitate compliance within the delivery of each project maintaining relevant legal, industry and organisational standards. You will take ownership of all Health and Safety compliance, including inspections of our construction sites, formally reporting site visits, and if required, conducting formal accident investigations. Be responsible in ensuring our Principal Contractor, Principal Designer and CDM duties are fulfilled.

Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

  • Overall responsibility for compliance of the Company’s H&S policies and systems.
  • Develop, Implement & Review the Company H&S policies, create H&S Action plans, Risk Assessments, Procedures and Safe Systems of work, ensuring they comply with the relevant and up-to-date legislations.
  • Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new, and upcoming Health and Safety legislation and make recommendations on requirements to meet legal compliance.
  • Work proactively with senior management and other key employees in reviewing and maintaining a programme of HSEQ strategy and continuous improvement in the management of Health and Safety.
  • Identify hazards and risks across the business and make recommendations for areas of improvement to senior management, maintaining a record of risks identified and producing supporting documentation as required.
  • Review and approve all risk assessments and workplace method statements on a regular basis ensuring they are up to date
  • Review, maintain and develop IBMS system in line with compliance, external verifications on our auditable QA system to ensure the Company’s statutory compliance in all areas.
  • Develop, implement & maintain an accident record database, and prepare reports for senior management /clients when required. Also liaise with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as required in the event of an incident.
  • Lead and support project teams in the investigation of accidents and incidents and in the implementation of resulting recommendations and learnings.
  • Maintain & review the Company training matrix and make recommendations based on training gap analysis to ensure training is up to date and relevant with H&S legislation.
  • Carry out regular H&S Site Inspections and produce formal reports, making recommendations as required to ensure continued improvement and best practice, as well as ensuring compliance to all relevant H&S legislation and Company standards.
  • Provide updates to senior management on KPI’s (accident stats, RIDDOR stats, Inspection performance etc.) as requested or required.
  • Drive the health,wellbeing, safety standards and behavioural culture within the business encouraging a positive attitude and approach at all levels of safety related matters.
  • Attend relevant client or project meetings at pre or post-contract award and raise any H&S related matters or opportunities for improvement to ensure projects are delivered in line with relevant H&S legislation and Company H&S policy.
  • Provide support in the management system for the onboarding of all sub-contractor trades ensuring relevant insurance and documentation is held on file and approved.
  • Assist as required with pre-qualification, bid and tender opportunities as necessary.
  • Ensure all statutory inspections, safety tests and records are maintained & reviewed throughout the business.
  • Take responsibility for first aid and Fire procedures including employee fire marshall and first aid training, both on site and at Company premises.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with company employees and our construction partners, communicating our Health and Safety policies and delivering best practice across the business.
  • Provide support, guidance, and professional expertise across the business on all matters relating to H&S compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce incidents and non-conformance associated with design, quality, and construction.

Required Qualifications
The following qualifications would be required:

Essential:

  • General NEBOSH Certificate
  • CSR Site Card
  • First Aid Basic Certificate
  • Internal auditor

Preferable:

  • NEBOSH Fire Prevention and Risk Management Certificate
  • Environmental Management Systems Qualification
  • General Management Qualification
  • IOSH Safety, Health, and Environment for Construction Workers
  • Graduate IOSH Status or CMIOSH status

At least 5 years’ experience in a similar management role with full MS Office knowledge and reporting skills and knowledge of the following:

  • Behavioural safety
  • Knowledge of corporate and social responsibility

Sales Support Administrator (Construction)

The main aim of this role will be to support the very start of a customer journey and building relationships, identify new business stream opportunities, maintain relationships with and manage existing clients to identify new opportunities with the construction industry. Proven ability to juggle multiple clients and work streams at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail. Strategic planning is key.

We pride ourselves in creating stunning bespoke timber frame modular buildings with endless possibilities. Fully inclusive modern method building services including design and build to a broad education & commercial client base and are seeking a motivated self-starter, who thrives in busy fast paced environments, has great communication skills and is confident talking to customers.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the role sits within a small sales team and will provide sales support for both the sales surveyors and business development manager. This role is key to delivering the exceptional level of service we aim to provide our clients. Consistently. Every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effective and efficient handling of sales enquiries, managing from inception to initial meetings and surveys. Gathering all relevant information to inform the next steps.
  • Efficiently capturing relevant data and ensuring CRM is populated and up to date.
  • Follow-up quotes to maximise conversion, together with reengaging with past and potential customers.
  • Maintenance of correspondence with each potential customer.
  • Arranging and booking of TEAMS meetings with potential customers with supporting diary management for the sales manager and surveyor.
  • Support the growth aspirations of the business.

Skills and qualifications required.

  • Ability to manage a varied workload with conflicting deadlines and multiple simultaneous tasks.
  • Sales CRM system administration, inputting, record keeping, being able to process tasks, diary management and to produce sales reports as required.
  • PC and Office literate e.g. Excel, Word. Basic awareness of contract law.
  • Experience within an administrative role, preferably within a corporate/highly commercial environment.
  • Ideally, you will have progressed from further education within a commercial setting, but you would be educated to minimum GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Positive DBS certificate would have to be acquired prior to appointment as some work in schools and other places that require this certification.
  • Have a great telephone manner with the ability to confidently control a conversation and provide each customer with exemplary levels of service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Ideally, access to a car and a full UK driving licence would be an advantage.
  • Manage sales inquiries as they come in and deal with each one appropriately.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate and present data in a clear and concise manner to both internal & external stakeholders across all levels.

Although based in Coventry, Flexible working opportunities will be considered.

Office Based role (Coventry Head Office) - Mon to Fri 8:00 to 17:00
