Acoustics designed properly
Sound isolation between rooms and from neighbouring teaching spaces, plus internal acoustic treatment for a controlled, musical room, all designed to your acoustician's targets.
Permanent timber-frame practice rooms, ensemble spaces and recording studios, designed around your acoustician's targets and how your department actually teaches.

Most music departments have made do for years: practice happening in a corridor, an ensemble squeezed into a room that was never meant for it, and sound leaking into the lesson next door. A dedicated building solves that. We design permanent, timber-frame modular education buildings shaped around the way music is taught and rehearsed, with sound isolation between rooms and acoustic treatment inside them planned from the first sketch. You get practice rooms, an ensemble or recital space, and recording provision where you need it, all on a single fixed price and a programme that works around your timetable.

“As educators, apart from the need for extra teaching space for our students we needed the professionalism, experience and expertise of TG Escapes to build our Dance and Drama studios.”
A music building has to do two acoustic jobs at once: keep sound from travelling where it shouldn’t, and sound good where it matters. We design for both, then wrap it in the calm, naturally lit environment that helps pupils focus and perform. Here is what that gives your department.
Sound isolation between rooms and from neighbouring teaching spaces, plus internal acoustic treatment for a controlled, musical room, all designed to your acoustician's targets.
Multiple small practice and peripatetic rooms, a larger ensemble or recital space, optional recording studio, and proper instrument storage, laid out as one connected suite.
Daylight, timber interiors and views of nature help pupils concentrate during focused practice and stay composed before a performance.
A genuine 50-year+ design life means a real building on your estate's asset register, not a hire-and-return cabin with a date to send it back.
Much of the build happens offsite while groundworks run in parallel, so installation is short and our teams can work in a live school, not just the holidays.
Our in-house architects, workshop and installers cover design to handover, so your bursar gets one fixed price and a single point of contact throughout.
We have delivered over 800 buildings across the UK, including more than 250 for education, so we understand how schools actually work. An academic calendar that cannot slip, safeguarding rules that shape every doorway and sightline, and a finance committee that wants the specification defended in writing. A music building adds its own demands on top, and we design around all of it rather than handing you a generic box with “music” written on the door.

a department-aware design process, not a generic shell
You share how your department runs: how many practice rooms, whether you need an ensemble or recital space, recording provision and storage. We visit your site and listen. By the end, we both understand the brief and the constraints.
You give us your site plan, budget and any acoustician's targets. Our in-house architects produce a bespoke design and a single fixed price covering planning to handover. By the end, your bursar has a firm number for the finance committee, not an estimate.
You confirm your preferred funding route. We handle the planning application as principal designer and contractor, and support your bid, whether that is the Condition Improvement Fund, Section 106 contributions, capital reserves or our 10-year lease funding. By the end, you have permission and a funded project.
You carry on teaching. We build your timber frames and acoustic detailing in the workshop while groundworks and foundations progress on site in parallel. By the end of this stage, your building is ready to install with much of the work already done away from the school.
You keep your timetable running. We crane the structure into place and make it weathertight, with deliveries timed around the school day to keep disruption to a minimum. By the end of this stage, the building is on site and watertight, far faster than traditional construction.
We complete services, acoustic linings, fit-out and decoration, then hand over a finished music suite. You get our warranties and optional aftercare, and a space your department can teach and rehearse in straight away.

A very well managed and collaborative project.
The whole team has been amazing from sales to completion.
