Case Study
Classroom at Penponds School
Penponds School is a small, friendly primary school which serves mainly rural community on the edge of Cambourne.
1. Why did you want to develop an eco learning space?
With a fast growing intake of pupils we had used up every available space within the main school building and even had a class in our school hall! We needed another classroom quickly and as inexpensively as possible: an extension to the school would have been too pricey, too slow and too disruptive.
2. What made The Learning Escape stand out from other providers?
Initially, we were drawn to the website and the beautiful classroom designs. We were further impressed, when we called the office, by the level of service and support we received. We loved the way that the whole build was managed for us (including planning permission) and the flexibility afforded to us regarding design, construction and pricing. The budget and timescale were tight, but The Learning Escape worked perfectly within our parameters.
3. What are the biggest benefits you’ve noticed for the pupils and your school?
Our beautiful new classroom was built so quickly, we haven’t had a chance to move in yet! We are very excited by the prospect. The children in the lucky class will be in a space that will truly feel their own as well as being bathed in natural light, with fabulous views of our school grounds. The rest of the school will really enjoy getting the main hall back!
4. How did you find working with The Learning Escape overall?
The whole process was really positive and I was so pleased that it had little, or no, negative impact on our school grounds. Overall, it was a delightfully pain-free experience.
