From Science Lab to Art Studio
As our client list expands, we are extending our repertoire of learning spaces to encompass all areas of the curriculum. Claremont Fan Court School in Esher approached us, having admired one of our eco-classrooms at nearby primary School Danesfield Manor.
Claremont were embarking upon a major refurbishment of their science block and were in need of a temporary relocation of the science labs while the works in the main building were undertaken. They wanted the classrooms to revert to use for standard curriculum subjects once their new science department was complete.
Despite a tight deadline, the team at The Learning Escape were able to overcome the planning challenges posed by the fact that the school is a Grade I listed site then, without further ado, we installed specialist internal fitments of lab equipment, including the provision of gas supply to multiple work stations. All with a view to disassembling and relocating the kit when the time comes. Claremont are so delighted with the bright, airy classrooms that sit beautifully within the school grounds that they are keen to add more Learning Escapes as part of their general expansion programme. If they feel that their Art Department is in need of a redesign, they might like to have a look at the twin storey art studios that we built for Woolwich Polytechnic.
